iOS Live Activity
Your run on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.

While a workout is in progress on your watch, your iPhone Lock Screen and Dynamic Island show a live banner with elapsed time, distance, pace, and heart rate.
The banner updates every three seconds through the direct watch-to-phone link, never through the cloud, so it stays in step with your wrist without any server in between, and it ends the moment the workout does.
It earns its place wherever the phone is out of your hands: on the treadmill’s shelf while you run, in the bike mount while the watch records the ride, on the table during an erg session. A glance at the phone reads like a glance at the wrist, the RUNARA wordmark, a hero elapsed time, and pace and heart-rate pills, and on Dynamic Island iPhones the compact state keeps a runner glyph and the clock in view even while you use other apps.
Start any workout on the watch, there is nothing to set up on the phone.
The iPhone Lock Screen grows the live banner; on Dynamic Island iPhones, the expanded view shows a TIME / DISTANCE / PACE / HR quad and the compact state keeps the runner glyph and clock visible.
Numbers refresh every three seconds over the direct device link, in step with your wrist.
Stop the workout on the watch and the banner ends promptly, no stale “live” cards lingering on the Lock Screen.
Do I have to enable the Live Activity somewhere?
No. Start a workout on the watch and the banner appears on the iPhone by itself, subject to iOS’s own Live Activities permission for Runara, which iOS asks about the first time.
Do the live numbers travel through a server?
No. Updates flow over the direct watch-to-phone connection, the same local link that syncs your screens and routes. Runara has no server for them to travel through.
Does it work when I leave the phone at home?
The workout does, the banner cannot: it lives on the phone and needs the watch within normal connectivity range. Out of range, the watch keeps recording everything; the Live Activity simply has nothing to show until you are back.
